This collection contains items from St. Joseph's College for Women, based in Brooklyn, NY and Brentwood, NY. St. Joseph's College held a summer school in conjunction with St. John's University in 1934 and 1935 for the sisters to advance in their studies, especially in mathematics and science. The two newsletters, called The Pine Branch were written by the students and describe their experience in the summer school. A copy of each newsletter was given to the president of St. John's University at the time. The two additional items are a ticket for a lecture at St. Joseph's College, and a program for "class day" or graduation, for the students of St. Joseph's College.
